Donovan Gaines is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Moore, OK who attends Southmoore HS. Big and strong athletic build. 6.84 runner, moves well in the outfield and shows range, athletic and smooth through the ball, has some raw arm strength but will need fundamental work to get his throws on line. Left handed hitter, open stance with an early shift to his front side, pull and lift approach, swings hard, power is there with more consistent contact and timing. Also pitched, tight 3/4's arm slot with a short stride out front, simple turn and throw mechanics. Gets very good life on a fastball that topped out at 80 mph, lots of ground balls, short slider with some tightness that he could throw more, showed potential on the mound. Good student.
