John Schroeder is a 2021 C/1B, 3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Lakewood Ranch, FL who attends Lakewood Ranch. Athletic frame with wide shoulder and plenty of room to fill out as he matures. A primary catcher with short and simple actions, feet are short to the ground and he showed good timing. Compact arm and his throws stayed true. Easy movements and accurate to the bag. The switch hitter has long term upside from both sides. LH- uses a small stride and a short and direct load. Short path and slightly uphill, showed some pull power potential. RH-small leg lift with a consistent hand load. Creates good torque, flat path that produced line drives to the middle of the field. Accurate barrel. Good defensive backstop with upside from both sides of the plate.
