Richard Liu is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Allen, TX who attends Allen HS. Younger player with a slender frame. Registered a 7.40 60-yard dash time. A primary third baseman with a shorter arm action and some softness to his hands. Had a solid release and fielded the ball cleanly. Showed good footwork with above average arm strength. From the mound he threw from a three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Had solid arm speed with a fastball that sat from 73-77 mph and topped out at 78 mph with good cut to the pitch. Mixed in a changeup with some depth in the mid to high-60s. Even stance at the plate with a deep hand load and higher hand set. Fly ball approach with lift in his swing and worked best to the pull side of the field. Use of weight shift and lower half involvement played well with the ability to barrel the ball out in front. Excellent student.
