Travis Stapleton is a 2020 C/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Clermont, FL who attends Real Life Christian Academy. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary catcher with a low set and good hip flexion while setting up to receive. Gains some ground to the bag with compact footwork while working out of crouch. When in tempo, showed soft hands with quick exchanges. Tends to work too quickly at times. Released from a compact arm slot that generated on line carry to the bag at 71 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.06. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side stride. Generated good shift into contact with lower half. Hands launch on a fluid, naturally lifted plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout with present bat speed and strength at contact. Showed the ability to turn barrel to contact aggressively and work to the pull side gap with authority. Tools with continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Excellent student.
