Chaz Poppy is a 2019 C/3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Sherwood, AR who attends Sylvan Hills High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.79 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, low set up, receives close to body, gains ground quickly, accurate to the bag with a clean takeaway. Showed impressive raw arm strength up to 78 mph with a workout pop time of 2.00. At the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, low hand set, and a simple glide to the ball. Showed a line drive swing plane with good bat speed and lift off the barrel. Good weight transfer through swing with a pull oriented approach. Showed ability to barrel the ball consistently with strength through contact. Named to Top Prospect List.
