James Garthaffner is a 2019 RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Fort Hamilton HS. Large frame with solid, athletic build; solid projection remaining as well. Righthanded pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch, throws from high three quarters slot and creates plane to the plate, uses lower half well in drop-and-drive delivery, works quickly, fastball worked 76-79 mph and peaked at 81 mph early on. Showed curveball with sharp break, did a good job throwing it for strikes as well as down out of the zone, also worked in changeup with some fade. Did a good job holding runners. Good student.
