Jeff Pierantoni is a 2020 SS/ with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Valencia, CA who attends Notre Dame. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size and strength with continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.14 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth, athletic footwork while surrounding the baseball. Stays low while moving to each side of the infield with solid range to each side. Clean, fundamental glove actions while working through the baseball with fluid glove to hand exchanges. Flashed the ability to throw while on the run with athletic actions throughout defensive workouts. Generated some carry across the infield while throwing with developing accuracy, topped at 72 miles per hour. Switch hitter with a tall, upright stance from each side of the plate. Stays on time to contact with a simple leg lift trigger while hand launch on a line drive path that generates occasional leverage through extension. Lower half shows rotational actions to contact with occasional shift. Repeats swing mechanics well from each side with a knack for finding the barrel throughout batting practice. Seems to have slightly more fluidity and bat speed from the right side of the plate at times time. Good athlete that will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
