Max Smyley is a 2018 SS/3B/2B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Cardinal Mooney HS. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build; good projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.69 seconds. Sets up to hit from open-based stance with high back elbow, small stride into swing, would drive the ball better with increased weight shift, shows good smoothness to hand path, takes direct path to ball on line drive swing plane. Approach worked up the middle and the opposite way, made consistent contact to those fields with good repeatability. Worked out defensively in the infield, quality footwork throughout actions, fields cleanly out front with good hands, clean transfer into throwing hand while working into crow hop, showed good accuracy across the diamond with arm strength clocked up to 76 MPH. Very good student.
