Peter Petracco is a 2020 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Rockledge, FL who attends Melbourne HS. Big and strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with a wrapped barrel start, tight hand pitch through the zone, has good hand quickness and flashes bat speed and strength when on time, can simplify and balance his approach to take advantage of his solid natural hitting tools. 7.82 runner, has clean and athletic actions at first base defensively, soft quick hands, asset at the position defensively. Two-way prospect on the mound, has good tempo to his delivery with short and quick arm circle leading to an over the top arm slot, creates very good downhill angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, has been up to 86 mph earlier this fall, works down in the zone with occasional arm side running life. Slider hand good lateral movement and occasional good depth. Front side tends to open early but has very good command and feel on both pitches when he's staying direction. Development will key on ability to make adjustments to his hitting approach to use his strength and bat speed. Very good student.
