Trent McBurnett is a 2022 RHP/C/IF with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Sanford, NC who attends Southern Lee HS. Small and young frame with plenty of room to fill and time to continue to fill out physically. Ran a 7.65 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins his delivery with a small side step up to a low leg lift, uptempo windup with short extension out in front, longer arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball is mostly straight but did show cutting action as well topping out at 70 mph, mixed in a curveball with early break out of hand and developing spin, breaking ball showed varying shape from 10-to-4 to 11-to-5. Also took reps in the infield where he graded out best, sits back on the baseball, effort to actions with a quick release when needed, short arm action into throw with developing arm strength that will likely improve with maturity. Righthanded hitter, hands dip at load, rotational swing that will improve pop off of the barrel with the implement of a weight shift, hands stay tight to body throughout stroke.
