Jake Barbour is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Cardinal Gibbons. Medium slender build that stands to drastically improve as he progresses, posted a 7.12 second 60 yard dash time. Primary infielder, is meticulous with his reads off the bat. Rounds the ball well and fields out in front. Transfers cleanly and throws with a shorter arm action across the diamond. Good arm strength across for his build and it will only stand to improve. From the outfield, has a clean over the top throwing stroke with accuracy to all bags. Moves well into the gap as well as down the line. At the plate, uses an even and squatted stance with a compact overall stroke. Hands don't move back much into his load. Swing stays connected throughout, looks to use the middle of the field. Great student in the classroom as well.
