Payton Rowe is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Fleetwood, PA who attends Oley Valley High School. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.12 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball and uses a big crow hop upon fielding, fields the ball out front, could incorporate additional lower half to drive through the ball and gain momentum, shows a short arm action with a tight release from around the ear. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery, shows a similar short and tight arm action, hides the ball well while working to a three-quarters slot. Short stride down the mound, fastball topped out at 73 mph with nice running life to arm side, flashed a short 11-5 shaped curveball at 63 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a closed stance and uses a toe tap trigger for timing, short stride through lower half to move into contact. Full swing path through the zone, hands stay close to body throughout swing. Upper body dominant, contact approach and showed ability to work to all fields, line drive contact off the barrel when squared, projects with additional physical strength.
