2019 Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase
Jason Cheifetz is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Centreville, VA who attends Westfield. Medium frame with athletic, lanky build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, length to arm stroke on backside, smoothness throughout, quick arm stroke coming through with good extension, drops and drives downhill, good timing, fastball worked 80-85 mph with good ride through the zone, has good feel for tight spinning 12/6 curveball and slider with more tilt and late bite, also showed good changeup with tumble. Hits from slightly open stance with high back elbow, leg lift trigger, whip to barrel coming through, good bat speed overall, line drive plane, can drive the ball pull side and up the middle, solid two way prospect. Worked out in the outfield, lines up the ball well, comes through it and fields clean with balance, clocked up to 81 mph on throws. Excellent student, committed to James Madison.
