Canton Long is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Royse City, TX who attends Royse City High School. Young player with a medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.57 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a tight leg lift into body, deeper hip turn, uptempo delivery, longer arm action, extreme crossfire, and open landing down the mound. Threw from a high three quarter arm slot and showed good ability to repeat. Fastball worked 74-78 mph with short arm side life and occasional cut when working glove side. Filled up the zone and changed eye levels well, mixing all three pitches. Curveball showed 12/6 shape with good depth and developing feel to spin. Changeup showed sink and ability to open up counts with it at 71 mph. Also took batting practice, started with a spread base, closed stance, and short stride to the ball. Swing primarily through upper half with good fluidity through point of contact. Made consistent contact with a linear plane. Will continue to improve at the plate with additional lower half and strength. Good student.
