Vance Alvarado is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Moses Lake, WA who attends Moses Lake HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Graded out better as a position player this event. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread bent knee stance with a short and strong swing, is timed up well with an easy load and shift, consistent hard game contact and showed his power on multiple occasions, mostly pull line drive contact with some carry to it. 7.85 runner but plays faster in the games, hustling base runner. Has a simple step and throw delivery on the mound, low elbow release from a 3/4's arm slot, tends to drift out over his front side and lose leverage at release. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, soft curveball with a short break. Good student.
