Andres Martinez is a 2019 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Mission, TX who attends Mission HS. Recorded a 6.90 60-yard dash. Younger look with present athleticism and quality speed. Primary shortstop with good lateral agility. Pretty advance actions with clean glove side work and present arm strength and potential to be a high level defender as the arm continues to improve. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a smooth delivery and good tempo. Works quickly down in the zone and the fastball has good arm side run to it. Short arm action with a tight and late breaking curveball. Good depth and showed some good deception in the overall delivery. Looking for weak ground ball contact. Righthanded hitter with an upright, open stance. Loose hand path and looks to turn the barrel over to the pull side. Flashed good jump off the barrel. High hand set with a high back elbow and present bat speed. Lifts the ball well and creates torque through the lower half. Named to the 2017 South Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
