Vaughn Burke is a 2020 RHP/ with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend. Compact frame with a lean build. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift to belt and stayed balanced at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. High hand separation at take back and released from a full, high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed occasional life to arm side in the low 70's, topped at 71 miles per hour. Curveball created good depth with 11/5 shape. Showed developing feel for the breaking ball to the bottom of the zone. Consistently changed speed and challenged hitters while inducing weak contact. Right handed hitter with an crouched, even stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive barrel plane. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field creating line drive, ground ball contact between the gaps. Good student as well.
