Adrian Martinez is a 2018 OF/ with a 5-11 148 lb. frame from Laredo, TX who attends United. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary outfielder with fundamentally sound, athletic actions while moving to and through the baseball. Fluid glove actions around the baseball and released from a loose arm actions creating carry to the bag, topped at 79 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the infield and behind the plate. From the infield used smooth, deliberate footwork paired with developing glove actions prior to releasing from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced some carry across the infield topping at 74 miles per hour. Behind the plate utilized a balanced stance while receiving. Works to a taller throwing position gaining some ground to the bag. Low, loose exchanges through transfer and released from a three-quarters slot. Topped a 66 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.10. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Direct, inside path to contact with a line drive plane. Has some fluidity through the zone and flashes solid bat speed at contact. Produced good jump off the barrel to the middle of the field but also flashed the ability to turn barrel and work to pull side with some authority. Good student.
