Griffin Everitt is a 2018 C/2B with a 5-10 182 lb. frame from Lincoln, NE who attends Lincoln Southwest HS. Medium frame with a sold build and beginnings of present strength. Ran a 7.52 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, gains some ground to the bag while working out of crouch with fundamental footwork. Clean, extended glove to hand exchanges while working out of crouch. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot topping at 76 mph, best workout pop time of 2.14. Throws generated accurate, on line carry to the bag. Also worked out defensively from the infeild and outfield. From the infield shows smooth, athletic footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front with smooth glove to hand exchanges. Moves well to each side with the ability to throw while on the run, topped at 77 mph to the bag. From the outfield showed deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean, athletic actions while working through the baseball to release. Baseball came out of hand cleanly from a three-quarters slot, topping at 80 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Generated good shift into baseball with linear lower half actions. Hands launch on a loose path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension that flashed some leverage at times. Consistently squared contact throughout batting practice to the middle of the field. Shows some present bat speed through the zone with good jump off the barrel to the outfield gaps when on time. Outstanding student as well.
