Ataru Yamaguchi is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Vancouver, BC who attends Britannia HS. Medium-large frame with solid present build; some projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.16 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from long, loose arm action up to three quarters arm slot, gets downhill well in delivery, fastball worked 78-82 MPH with good life to the arm side and quality command. Showed curveball with 10/4 shape, good spin and tight break. Around the plate with both pitches. Big leg lift trigger when hitting, drops hands into load and gets them on plane, balanced stride throughout stroke and attacks the baseball out front with good bat speed. Works to the middle of the field, jumped a few with good carry deep. Moved well to the ball in the outfield and fields cleanly, shows quality arm strength with carry and accuracy to target, clocked up to 85 MPH. Excellent student.
