Nicholas Quarella is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-7 220 lb. frame from Saunderstown, RI who attends North Kingstown Senior. Extra large frame with a ton of length, broad shoulders, and extremely long limbs. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a small rocker step into a high leg lift above the belt. Slight spine tilt at the gather point and throws from a longer arm action that features a soft plunge in the back. Full arm circle with rotational elements to the upper half. Fastball has natural sink and dive to the pitch. Throws from a higher three-quarter arm slot and features moving parts that create deception. Worked primarily to the arm side part of the plate and mixed in a big breaking curveball with 12/6 shape. Held velocity well throughout the outing. Repeats mechanics well for having a very large frame. Good student.
