Cade Sammons is a 2019 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Jackson, TN who attends University School Of Jackson. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a very impressive time of 6.70 in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, used a compact arm action with good actions to the ball and clean and efficient footwork. Present arm strength up to 82 mph. At the plate, started with an upright stance, slightly open base, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Gap-to-gap approach with a naturally lifted swing plane and extension through contact. Flashed raw bat speed with best contact coming to pull side. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements. Also pitched, side step start, worked from the third base side of the rubber, crossfire element, short, compact arm action, and threw from an extended three quarter arm slot. Pitched with impressive tempo and showed feel for changing timing to the plate. Fastball worked 76-80 mph with angle to the lower third of the zone. Showed a 2/8 shaped slider with short break at 71 with developing feel to spin. Exceptional student.
