2016 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Jamar Ellis is a 2018 OF/ with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Rocky Mount, NC who attends Rocky Mount High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically. Posted a 7.35 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, short arm action, quick first step to the ball, aggressive through the ball, and developing arm strength. At the plate, started with an open stance, wide base, high hand set, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Swing primarily worked through upper half with a linear swing through the zone. Worked all fields with raw bat speed. Will continue to improve with strength and additional lower half incorporation. Very good student.
