Cole Denler is a 2019 LHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Bossier, LA who attends Airline HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, mature build with present strength proportioned throughout. Primary lefthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a high leg lift up past belt, lands slightly open with front foot but shows nice direction to the plate and creates some extension out front. Short and compact arm action through the back, hides the ball well and works to a three-quarters arm slot at release. Gets on top of fastball, mostly true in life, topped out at 80 mph but got on hitters quickly. Attacked with fastball throughout, feel for curveball developed and showed 12-6 shape at best with short depth from similar release point. Flashed a changeup at 71 mph as well. Also hit, righthanded hitter, uses a leg lift trigger at start of swing. Upper body dominant swing with a patient approach, short storke works the middle of the field with line drive contact and showed ability to shoot the gaps as well when on time with swing.
