Jared Kwicinski is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River South High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build and room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a side step moving into delivery, full hand path and gets tall on backside with a slight hip turn at the top. Short arm action through the back and hides the ball well behind back hip, gets to a three-quarters release point and shows whippiness and looseness to arm action. Strides out front and gets there early at times, generates short running life to fastball that topped out at 84 mph, showed riding life down in the zone. Repeats mechanics, developing feel for curveball with 11-5 shape and loose rotation, showed short depth. Solid arm strength from the outfield, big crow hop leading into release with extension out front, ball comes out well and shows the same looseness to arm action, good carry when on top of throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and a wide base in the box. Starts with an open base and gets closed with leg lift trigger, linear swing path and gets the barrel through the zone well. Pull side approach at the plate, gets upper body dominant in swing at times, nice contact off the barrel when squared. Good student.
