Andrew Eskens is a 2018 3B/RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Lincoln, NE who attends Lincoln Pius X HS. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.29 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman with smooth, athletic footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Works with good rhythm and fluidity while funneling the baseball and working through transition. Creates good momentum while working to the bag with a slight crow hop. Topped at 79 mph across the infield generating accurate, on line carry to the bag. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing similar athletic footwork while closing to baseball. Funnels baseball out front with two hands and works through exchange with clean actions. Creates a long arm circle back at separation and releases from a high three-quarters slot. Topped at 84 mph producing very good carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, slight open stance. Creates slight coil and wrap with front side at load. Lower half has linear action to contact creating some shift. Hands and barrel launch on a loose, fluid path creating a line drive plane through extension. Flashed good barrel whip with bat speed when on time and working the baseball between the outfield gaps. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition.
