Andrew Zapka is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Willowbrook, IL who attends Hinsdale Central. Zapka has a large strong build. Slow paced delivery to a 3/4 arm slot. Compact arm action. Hide ball well from hitters, has deceptive arm action. Fastball shows arm side run down in zone. Mixed in curveball with 11/5 shape and developing depth. Commanded inside part of plate well. Hit from a square upright stance. Small leg lift trigger, quick compact hands to contact, line drive plane with good leverage and lift. Mid field approach with good barrel control. Defensively, aggressive actions to ball and works through it. Has clean glove and exchange to release. Ball came out clean with accurate online throws. Named to Top Prospect List. Good Student.
