Ryan Montgomery is a 2021 C/RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Manvel, TX who attends Strake Jesuit College Prep. Slender young athletic build, projects well physically. Has athletic actions behind the plate, sets up spread and tends to stand straight up to throw, slowing down his release, has a compact arm and repeats his mechanics well defensively, just needs this adjustment, has the athleticism to keep improving, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, has a toe tap trigger with a high back elbow load, rotational upper body swing, level line drive swing path, hit to all fields and got some young carry when he squared it up. Also pitched, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, works from the stretch, tall delivery with a pause at the top. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle, works low in the zone with his fastball. Slow curveball was effective, rare change up. Good student.
