Jordan Phillips is a 2019 C/RHP/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Pasadena, TX who attends Deer Park HS. Big and strong athletic build. Left handed hitter, loads his hands well at the plate in a slightly open stance, has loose hands and gets extension through the ball, swings hard and has some bat speed, pull approach and will occasionally hit around the ball but has the strength to drive it when he stays back, has offensive tools to develop. 7.36 runner, showed good arm strength behind the plate with carry on his throws. Two-way prospect as a pitcher. Standard turn and throw delivery with good direction down the mound, compact arm circle with a high 3/4's arm slot. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, gets some running action in the zone. Landed a sweeping curveball well for strikes, best curveballs were at lower velocities when he wasn't trying to overthrow it. Flashed a change up with nice fading life. Still developing consistency in his mechanics but the talent is there on the mound with more repetitions. Good student, signed with Blinn College.
