Evan Howse is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Lake St. Louis, MO who attends Francis Howell. Solid athletic build with good present strength, big side step start to his delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, some energy at release but repeats his mechanics well. Upper 80's fastball, mostly straight, has gained 5 mph since last summer, works down in the zone with his fastball and can work to spots. Curveball has tight spin and good depth, changes the hitter's eye level well, consistent curveball release point to his fastball. Showed nice feel for his change up and profiles as a three-pitch starter at the next level. Mature pitcher who could use some more life on his fastball but has all the ingredients to be a solid starter at the next level. Good student.
