Eric Loomis is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-0 177 lb. frame from Brentwood, MO who attends Christian Brothers College HS. Medium athletic build with good length in his arms and legs. Compact arm action on the mound that hides the ball well, tight 3/4's arm slot, some drop and drive actions to the plate, medium energy on release. Fastball up to 89 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Shows good tightness to a low 70's sweeping curveball, can improve consistency on his curveball release. Fast arm with an ability to spin the ball and throw strikes. 7.15 runner, has confident glove actions in the outfield and smooth athletic footwork, plenty of raw arm strength with carry. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide stance with a low hand start, upper body rotational swing, middle of the field line drive approach, will get to wide with his lower half at times. Quality athlete with a very good arm. Good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
