2017 Mid-Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Jonathan Giordano is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River North. Large frame with strong, athletic build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.41 seconds. Primary pitcher, long stride downhill through delivery, spine tilts back over rubber, deep plunge through back to initiate arm stroke, hides ball well, fastball worked 79-83 mph and peaked at 84 mph. Overpowering up in zone. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape with good ability to land it for strikes. Hits from slightly open stance, small toe tap trigger brining hips back even in stride, gets the ball into the air with quality bat speed, showed middle-field approach with ability to drive ball pullside. Worked out in the outfield, short choppy steps to the ball with balance, quick release, arm strength clocked up to 86 mph. Very good student; named to 2017 Mid-Atlantic Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
