Jack Mahoney is a 2020 SS with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Arlington Heights, IL who attends St. Viator. Big and strong athletic build, stands out physically. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced stance with a simple load and shift, has looseness to his hands and hits the ball out front, line drive swing plane, has present bat speed, works gap to gap with lots of carry, power can come in time. 6.72 runner, has the athleticism to stay in the middle infield despite his size, can throw from multiple arm angles with a quick release, rounds the ball well, lots of arm strength when he's on top of the ball. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot with a short on line stride out front, creates downhill plane, pretty low effort. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, flashed a curveball and change up. Verbal commitment to South Carolina.
