Preston Salazar is a 2019 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Kirkwood, MO who attends Kirkwood. Big and strong athletic build with good present strength, especially in his lower half, and room for more. Two-way prospect. Right handed hitter, hits from an even stance with a short leg lift load and a high hand load, pull side rotational swing, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, can extend more consistently through contact for more power and lift. 7.02 runner, has good hands on defense and lots of arm strength. May be a better pitching prospect, has a long and loose arm action from a high 3/4's arm stroke, has effort in his delivery and is young in his mechanics but his arm strength stands out. Fastball worked mostly in the upper 80's, touched 92 mph once. Curveball showed tight spin and hard downer bite, bit downhill angle on his pitches. Signed with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
