2017 National Underclass East Showcase
Aidan Tornquist is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Dix Hills, NY who attends Half Hollow Hills West HS. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build; body projects well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.67 seconds. Primary left-handed pitcher, high leg lift into delivery, long arm stroke through the back to extended three quarters arm slot. Fastball worked 76-79 MPH with good arm side run. Curveball was weapon pitch, with 1/7 shape and very tight/sharp break, able to throw it to both sides of the plate with success. Showed changeup with arm side fade as well. Did a good job throwing strikes and working in/out. Sets to hit from wide-based stance with big leg lift trigger, high hands and back elbow, shows solid bat speed on line drive swing plane, showed good pop to the pull field when squared up, did a good job making consistent solid contact. Showed clean fielding actions in the OF with solid arm strength and carry with good accuracy, clocked up to 80 MPH on throws. Excellent student, named to 2017 National Underclass East Showcase Top Prospect List.
