2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Shea Scott is a 2017 2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Ashland, OR who attends Ashland HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.50 sixty yard dash. Primary second baseman with high energy, athletic footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front. Smooth glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Releases with a long, loose arm action that created some carry to the bag with developing accuracy, topped at 70 mph. Did not hit in batting practice, but did hit in game play. Showed a balanced, slightly crouch stance in game play. Looks to use the middle of the field with a simple, compact line drive swing plane. Has very good balance throughout swing and flashed the barrel control to use all fields at times. Stays composed while at the plate with a mature, discipline approach. Good student as well.
