2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Brian Morgan is a 2005 right handed pitcher/second baseman from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with a very projectable 6'3", 175 lb. frame. Morgan throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a high leg kick. His fastball was 72-74 with some sink. He also threw a slow, looping 60-62 mph curveball from an 11 to 5 angle. He did show solid control of both pitches. Morgan is a switch hitter that showed better from the left side. Left handed he had a nice line drive swing with power potential down the line. Right handed his bat speed was a little slower and not as quick to the ball. His best years are ahead of him. Brian is a very good student.
