Erich Kaufmann is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from St Augustine, FL who attends Bartram Trail. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Shows wiry strength throughout frame, projects for additional strength with continue physical development. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to leg lift delivery. Stays balanced throughout delivery while staying tall on back side at gather. Utilizes lower half while driving on line to the plate and carrying momentum through finish. Fastball has four-seam action with occasional downward plane to the plate, topped at 70 mph. Consistently filled the strike zone and flashed the ability to spot up on the edges at times. Curveball has softer spin with occasional depth when located at the bottom of the zone. Effectively mixed speeds and locations while keeping hitter off balance. Frame and arm action project for additional velocity with continue physical development. Very good student as well.
