Ben Tobio is a 2019 C/MIF with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Saint Stephens. Short frame with a strong build and square shoulders. Ran a 7.05 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Low side straddle stance. Longer transfer into arm action. Releases from a three-quarters slow with developing accuracy topping out at 69 miles per hour and popping a 2.19. Also worked out from the infield. Moves well to and through the baseball. Fields out front with a funnel up. Developing arm strength topping out at 70 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an upright narrow and open stance. High hand set. Slightly lifted bat path with a middle of the field to opposite field approach. Developing feel for the barrel. Excellent student as well.
