Kacen Shreffler is a 2020 2B/UT with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Livermore, CA who attends Livermore HS. Young athletic build with some compact strength. Right handed hitter, hits from an open and upright stance with a busy hand load, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, aggressive hitter, creates some bat speed and hits the ball on a line to all fields, positive approach and should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Sound defensive actions at second base, gets behind the ball well and has good hands, solid arm strength for second base. Also pitched, has a compact arm action from a mid 3/4's release slot, rotational delivery with an open front side. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with some running life, curveball had tight spin and better depth at lower velocities. Good student.
