2022 Summer Midwest Workout Showcase (July 7)
Mark Wagner is a 2023 C/1B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Naperville, IL who attends Neuqua Valley. He has a good frame with a thick build and present strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.88 seconds. Primary catcher that starts slightly open and in a higher set. He has quick transfers and does a nice job of covering ground towards second on his throws. He has a longer arm action and throws from an over-the-top arm slot. He showed good arm strength creating nice carry on his throws. Right-handed hitter that starts with high hands and an even base. He has a big load that initiates his violent swing. He has an uphill swing path and he looks to elevate the ball. He has fast, strong hands that create nice bat speed through the zone that allows him to leverage the ball deep into the outfield. He does a nice job of firing his hips which allows him to utilize the strength that he has in his lower half. Named to the Summer Midwest Workout Showcase (July 7) Top Prospect List.
