2021 Spring Atlantic Coast Showcase
Nick Baldev is a 2022 RHP/MIF with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from Warren, NJ who attends Rutgers Preparatory. Recorded a 7.44 in the 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher from the stretch only moves with a low handset into an above the belt leg lift as he rides the backside down the mound with good extension an explosion to the plate out of a high three-quarter arm slot. He has good arm speed with a fastball that has late arm side run and sink topping 84 mph as he commands the fastball very well on both sides of the plate. Baldev mixed in some feel for off-speed pitches as he is developing the release point on his breaking ball and shows good arm speed with fading action on the changeup. Also taking ground balls in the infield showcasing smooth actions, good footwork, and a strong arm across the diamond with a quick release throwing at a recorded 81 mph. Right-handed hitter steps to the plate with an even and wide stance, high hands, and a high back elbow with a short stride to contact. Baldev presents good barrel control working the ball middle to pull side approach. Excellent student. Named to the Spring Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
