Nyzaiah Mercado is a 2023 OF with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Vineland, NJ who attends Vineland Sr High-South. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows quickness to footwork moving towards the ball, utilizes a short crow hop into a long stride through release, occasionally mistimed, short and compact arm action and works over front side, shows accuracy on throws from higher slot, arm strength and carry will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even and narrow stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate, gets to front side early at times. Shows quickness to hands with a linear path through the zone, gets downward at times. Can implement additional lower half into swing, works the middle and pull side parts of the field.
