Cory Thompson is a 2020 LHP/OF/1B with a 5-8 144 lb. frame from Little River, SC who attends North Myrtle Beach Christian HS. Recorded a 7.86 60-yard dash. Younger look with plenty of room for physical development. Primary pitcher who showed a medium arm action with a soft stab through the back of the delivery. Pickoff move was deceptive and he picked off two runners. Drop and drive mechanic to incorporate the lower half. The curveball was thrown with similar arm speed and showed 12/6 shape. Worked both sides of the plate and showed a feel for spinning the ball. Has a quick arm in the outfield and gets behind the ball well. Spread open stance at the plate with a contact oriented approach. Quality load and has a balanced swing. Outstanding student.
