Michael Soldo is a 2017 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Brick, NJ who attends Brick Twp. Medium, athletic frame with lean present build, body projects very well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.35 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance with slight knee bend into load, short path to the ball with quick hands, line drive swing plane with quality bat speed, good strength at contact, primarily to the pull field with good jump off the barrel. Showed well at 1st base, fields clean out front, clean on pivot to 2B and 3B, clean release out of hand with solid arm strength up to 79 MPH. showed well on the mound, deep arm action through the back with slight stab, uses lower half well and lands slightly closed creating some crossfire action. Pounded the bottom of the zone with fastballs ranging from 77-80 MPH, solid life to the arm side as well. Slider is quality pitch, can very the shape, acts like a cutter in on the hands of right-handed hitters. Quality all around prospect. Excellent student.
