Joseph Budnick is a 2007 RHP/3B with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Inverness FL, who attends Citrus HS. He has a medium frame that could be strengthened up some. Budnick has sound pitching mechanics with good balance and a consistent release point. Budnick's go to pitch was a 66 mph curveball that lacked much power but Budnick had very good control of the pitch and spotted it well. His fastball was 73-77 mph with some late running action. Budnick worked quickly and threw strikes and knew how to get hitters out with his stuff. Budnick also showed good athletic ability in the field as a third baseman and at the plate. He has athletic actions on defense with a quick release and a smooth arm stroke. He has a level line drive swing with some pull bat speed and showed gap to gap power. Budnick is also a good student.
