Shawn Brown is a 2020 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Baxley, GA who attends Appling County High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, comes through the ball well with footwork and shows fluidity to actions with control, hand work out front, occasionally gets under throws, shows present arm strength across the diamond and projects for more with physical growth. Also pitched, uses a leg lift just above the belt with a full arm action through the back while working to a tight three-quarters release point. Lands on line, fastball topped out at 78 mph and comes out of hand well, shows rhythm to delivery. Shows feel for curveball with 11-5 shape and landed for strikes up to 64 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Short shift through lower half into contact, shows a full swing path through the zone with looseness to hands. Handles the barrel well and repeats swing, linear plane to point of contact and shows back spin on line drive contact to pull side. Good student.
