Matthew Poblete is a 2020 OF/C with a 5-7 120 lb. frame from Baxley, GA who attends Appling County High School. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base, shows quickness to footwork, utilizes a crow hop to gain momentum and incorporates lower half well, full arm action through the back and shows looseness and extension out front, comes out of hand well with present carry and accuracy. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set away from body in the box. Loads hands back at start of swing, bat speed will continue to develop with physical strength, employs a contact approach at the plate. Gets the barrel through the zone and shows extension out front with lift to swing plane at times, works the pull side. Very good student.
