Robby Lopez is a 2022 2B/C, SS, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends Canyon. Young, projectable build with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.10 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows ability to adjust to the hop well, fields the ball with a wide base and gets tall at release, can continue to implement additional lower half, high slot on throws across, accuracy across the diamond. Long strides in the outfield and moves well to the ball, fields out front and utilizes a crow hop, occasionally under the ball at release and opens front side. Quick transfer and release from behind the plate, gets quick with actions, accurate to the bag and can utilize additional footwork in mechanics. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a medium hand set; utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing in the box. Coils at top of swing, utilizes a middle of the field approach and shows a linear path through the zone. Stays short to the ball, projects with additional shift through lower half. Excellent student.
