LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 Sunshine East Showcase
Zachary Marcus is a 2007 OF with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Boca Raton FL, who attends West Boca HS. He has a tall, lean build that is very projectable. Marcus has athletic actions, especially in running and throwing. He's a 7.00 runner with an easy stride. Marcus's arm strength stood out from the outfield. He has a easy, long arm stroke and excellent carry on his throws. He threw 88 mph on the radar gun during drills and with his athleticism and projectable strength that could improve in the future. Offensively, Marcus has a knee lift trigger and a hand hitch to get his swing started. He was consistently late to the ball, although he had some hand quickness once he got the bat going. He'll need to add more strength in order to swing the bat with much authority. Everything in Marcus's profile, from his build to his athleticism/projection to his arm strength points to his significant potential as a pitcher. It would be very interesting to see him on the mound, although he didn't even list pitching as a secondary position on his PG profile.
